Hembrees in London

June was a month full of visitors for us. We had my parents and sister for the first 2 weeks of June. Then we had Nate's mission president and wife come visit. Then Nate's parents came to visit for the last 2 weeks of June. It has been one fun, crazy month and it flew by too quick.

We welcomed Gail and Jim to London by giving them these shirts. LSE Mum and LSE Dad. We thought it was a good fit for them. I especially liked how it said "Mum," instead of "Mom." :)

Besides me getting the stomach flu the first day that they were here, we had a great time. We stayed in London for about 5 days and tried to fit in as much fun stuff as possible. Here are some pictures of their trip:
(Sadly, I missed this night. It was the thing that I had been looking forward to the most! Afternoon tea at The Ritz. Good thing I already went with some girl friends. But instead I was home puking my guts out, laying on the air mattress and feeling like I was going to die. I haven't been that sick in a long time. But on a brighter note, I did get caught up on Bachelorette. I watched 2 1/2 episodes that night. Love this show. It was the only thing that kept me smiling knowing that they were out eating pastries and hot chocolate while listening to piano music and I was at home.)
 Buckingham Palace......the Queen's official residence.
Outside of The British Museum. Funny how the telephone booths are only used for pictures by tourists now days, not even for phone calls! Thank you cell phones.
Ruen Thai in Hammersmith. My favorite place to get yellow curry with coconut rice. Yum!
 Outside of Tower Bridge.
Big Ben and The Houses of Parliament.

And in the next picture, we went to India.....well not really.....but it sure seemed like it!.......

We rented a car one day and took a road trip to a seaside town called, Brighton, and then to Leeds Castle. Brighton had this cool looking palace there that we just had to get pictures with. I really felt like I had gone to India for the day instead of Southern England.
Gail feeding the birds at Leeds Castle. Nate took a video of me singing Mary Poppins song, "Feed the birds, tuppence a bag....." while videoing Gail feeding the birds. It was pretty fun. Maybe I will post it later.
Leeds Castle! They were having a wedding reception there that night so we saw the bride and groom on the way out taking pictures.

Us at the top of a maze that they had at Leeds Castle. It took us longer to get through it than we thought.
We took a bike ride around Hyde Park one morning and it was gorgeous. Then we walked around Kensington Palace Gardens and had breakfast at, "The Orangery." Since Nate and I are members of "The Royal Palaces," we got 10% off!

Windsor Castle trip. We got to see the Queen's 60 years of photographs of her life as well as take some pictures by the British guards.
Here is us in the airport waiting for our plane to start boarding. Next stop.....Venice!
