Pregnant for Mum's Day?

Happy Mother's Day!!!
In England that is!
Today is Mother's Day, or "Mothering Day," or "Mum's Day", as they call it here in London.
I thought it was interesting to realize that Mother's Day is a different day for most every country.
I always thought that it was in May everywhere, not just in the U.S., but I was wrong.

Here are some other Mothering Day Dates:
Norway= 2nd Sunday of February
Mongolia= June 1st
Thailand= August 12th
Costa Rica= August 15th
Russia= Last Sunday of November
Panama= December 8th

Interesting huh?

Speaking of Mothers... Something horrible but very funny happened last night that I just can't get out of my memory...

I sang at a Church Stake Relief Society Activity in North London. After the meeting was over, I had a lady come up to me who I met a few months back and that I hadn't seen in a while. She congratulated me on my song and said I did great. THEN....

And I have never had this happen to be, EVER, and never thought it would, I've always been a skinny person....

Rubbing my belly she said, "And I didn't know that you were pregnant! How exciting! "I looked at her blankly and said, "Uh...I'm not pregnant." Awkward moment.

So you are probably all thinking, "Is Mikelle getting fat?" Well, I don't think I am. I mean, I could eat healthier (I like my treats and chocolate) and maybe exercise a little more sometimes, (But I do teach Zumba twice a week and go to the gym on other days) but I don't look pregnant. And I take pretty good care of myself. Really, I don't look pregnant. I am not pregnant. And I was wearing something that showed that I wasn't pregnant, so why would she think that? I was so confused. I came home and asked Nate, because he is good at being completely honest with me all the time, even when I don't like it. He started laughing and said I don't.  It didn't make me feel so bad after realizing who the comment had come from, but still. That is never a good thing to have said to you, or to say to anyone! Hahaha....But perfect for the "Mothering Day" occasion today. :)

  1. Someone forgot to teach that lady that you NEVER ask/comment about a woman being pregnant unless they've told you they're pregnant.

    As someone who is 12weeks (and looks pretty bloated) I firmly state that you DO NOT look preggo. You don't even look remotely soft around the edges.

    Every time I see pictures of you I think, "Man, I need to start Zumba, because it obviously does a body good."

    That lady must have had babies on the brain or been in a mental fog. Hahaha.

  2. Hahahah... oh I wish I had been there! I love the new blog design btw! It is super cute!
