Yalla Yalla

On Friday night, I had a friend come to visit.

We never served together but served in two of the same areas on our missions at different times, Newport, ME, and Lebanon, NH, so we know a lot of the same people.

Megan (Sister Swan) was in London for a work business trip so we got together for dinner.

I hadn't seen her since Scott and Jean's temple sealing over a year ago!

It was fun to see what she has been up to and for her to meet Nate.

We went to a yummy Mediterranean food place called, "Yalla Yalla" in Soho.

It was definitely a good choice.

Thank you Urban Spoon.

Here is what we ordered:

Hummous with sliced lamb fillets and parsley on top.

I wasn't too sure about the lamb part at first,

but it was a really great addition to the already spectacular hummous!

These little pita breads were amazing. Perfectly chewy, soft, and delicious.

They were still hot! Right fresh from the oven.

They were a perfect pair with the fresh hummous.

On the left we have Nate's dish. It was a mixed grill plate with three different meats: chicken, lamb, and kafta. It came with sauteed veggies and basmati rice.

On the right is my dish. It was a sfiha with minced lamb, onion, pomegranate seeds, pomegranate molasses, and a wedge of lime. Very unique, and quite good!

Last but not least was Megan's dish. It was a lamb casserole with seven spice rice and roasted veggies. Wow! I tried some of her dish and it was so good. The rice had a cinnamon flavor to it with some toasted nuts on top. A+++!

It was a great night with great food and great company!

  1. Mikelle, I came across this blog post on facebook and felt my worlds collide a bit...I did the London Study Abroad with Megan! She's a wonderful girl and was one of my favorite people to be around (and to pose with in photographs). I'm glad that you two know each other and got to get together in London! Have a great Christmas!
